Dan Grading

TKA SENIOR AND JUNIOR DAN GRADE SYSTEM.

SHODAN-HO GRADING CRITERIA (students under 16 years).

The junior Dan grade system is for students aged under 16 years.

-The student must have a full pass on their 1st kyu grading and must have a minimum of 10 months between 1st kyu to Shodan-ho.

-If the student is succesful they will wear a black belt with white stripe, certificate and signed licence slip.

-Once the student is 16 and with thier sensei’s permission the student will be able to take their senior 1st Dan, if the student is 18 years plus, they may be eligable for 2nd dan depending on their ability.

-Two gradings will be held a year on a specified shodan-ho & brown belt gradings.

 

SENIOR DAN GRADE CRITERIA

 –TKA senior dan grade is for students 16 years plus.

-There must be a minimum of 10 months between 1st kyu and taking first dan where you MUST have a full pass on your 1st kyu grade.

-You must have permission off your sensei before taking 1st dan.

-If successful the student will wear a full black belt, recieve official TKA dan certificate and go on the TKA black belt register, after 3 months of consistant training (please note) if you are abcent from training for 6 months or longer with out genuine reason you will be removed off the register and MAY be asked to resit your grade once you return back to training depending on the students ability.

 

TIME FRAME BETWEEN DAN GRADES

1st-2nd Dan = 2 years (must be 18+)

2nd-3rd Dan = 3 years (must be 21+)

3rd-4th Dan = 4 years

4th – 5th = 5 years
